Chris A. Blackerby has successfully tried cases in both federal and state courts across Texas. Chris graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma in 1989 with a degree in Philosophy. He received his law degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1993 where he was an Editor on the Texas Law Review and a member of the Board of Barristers. Upon graduation, Chris served as a Briefing Attorney to the Honorable James R. Nowlin in the United States District Court, Western District of Texas. After his clerkship, Chris began his practice with Brown McCarroll, L.L.P. becoming a partner there in 2001. Chris joined GERMER in 2008. Chris is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and all United States District Courts in Texas (Western, Eastern, Northern and Southern). He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Federal Bar Association, and the Austin Bar Association. Chris has been named a “Texas Rising Star” by Law & Politics and Texas Monthly Magazine, “Texas Super Lawyer” as published in Texas Monthly Magazine and is A-V rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

    • Northcutt v. Deere & Company, et al.  Civil Action No. 2:10-CV-433; in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.
      • Result: Obtained Defense Verdict for client.
    • Mata v. Stoneridge, Inc., et al.  Cause No. 01-11-17707-MCV; in the 365th Judicial District Court, Maverick County, Texas.
      • Result: Obtained Directed Verdict for client.  Jury found co-defendant liable and awarded 45 million in damages.
    • Bunnell v. Dixon Industries, Inc., et al.  Cause No. 32163; in the 33rd Judicial District, Burnet County, Texas.
      • Result: Obtained Defense Verdict for client.
