Professional Background   

• Lu joined Germer in 2023 as a Senior Trial Attorney, successfully manages cases from pre-litigation through appeal.
• Lu advises her corporate clients on commercial real estate transactions and disputes, on business organization matters including formation and mergers, and negotiates organizational leases and other contracts.
• Lu began her legal career working for a well-known real estate firm in Houston, handling general transaction and litigation matters. Lu advised corporate clients on federal statute compliance, advised clients on corporate governance, and successfully negotiated informal resolution of pre-litigation matters. Lu represented large and small business owners and worked closely with HOA’s to resolve matters without the need for litigation, as Lu supports legal intervention to prevent court-intervention.
• As a former federal government attorney working for an agency’s Office of General Counsel, Lu became a first-chair trial attorney handling administrative matters including EEOC, NLRB, and MSPB cases and appeals. Lu provided day to day legal guidance for executive leadership, briefed her agency on legislative updates, and negotiated settlements in and out of formal mediation.
• Lu is no stranger to negotiating with union representatives and interpreting labor contracts, and as both an attorney and a former Director of Human Resources and Administrative services, she has handled the full gambit of employment and labor matters, including executive compensation, drafting and editing policies and procedures, drafting and auditing emergency response plans, and drafting and auditing employee handbooks.
• Lu has also served as first-chair on a variety of arbitrations and assisted in class action defense.
• Lu interned for Judge Vanessa Gilmore (now retired) in the Southern District of Texas , writing an FLSA order on a subject of first impression for the fifth circuit.
