Overview

Jeff is a proud alumnus of both Texas A&M University and The University of Texas. Prior to joining Germer in 2017, he practiced law in San Antonio for 33 years, most of that time with the firm of Prichard, Hawkins and Young. Jeff has tried cases to verdict all over Texas, in both Federal and State Court, and regularly handles cases in other states. He is a sustaining member of the Product Liability Advisory Council, a member of The American Board of Trial Advocates and is Preeminent AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbard.

Jeff routinely handles complex product liability lawsuits for the automotive industry involving air bags, seatbelts, roof/vehicle structures, handling and stability, fuel-fed and electrical fires, seats and seat backs, rollovers and general crashworthiness. He also defends manufacturers of recreation products such as ATV’s, Side-by-Sides, motorcycles, personal watercraft, and marine products, as well as manufacturers of forklifts, track loaders, generators and other industrial and consumer products.

Representative Experience

  • Jeff tried the first Yamaha Rhino case (Ray v Yamaha) to a defense verdict in Orange County, Texas. At the time, Yamaha was defending over 500 Rhino suits in federal and state courts across the country.  The verdict set the tone for subsequent defense verdicts and the resolution of a large percentage of Rhino cases.
